Tripoli gave us the thrill of a surprise in 2021 as he and jockey Tiago Pereira won the G1 TVG Pacific Classic! The duo was not the top pick with the morning line odds and bettors that day, but stars aligned, the path opened up, and they sailed to the lead and took the win! What a thrill it was, especially because it was so unexpected.
Tripoli is a beautiful chestnut with a great personality. Visits to the barn require a bundle of carrots would be fed to him or he would be very vocal about it. He would also give his all and it was apparent that he loved to run. He gave everything he had if not from the perspective that he was over-asked, instead, he looked to be enjoying his career as a racehorse. He currently lives in South America as a stallion for the Don Alberto Stables.
